How the 5-team pickleball double elimination bracket is built

5 is not a power of two, so the bracket is padded to 8 slots and the top 3 seeds skip round one with a bye. Everyone gets two lives: losers from the winners bracket drop into a 4-round losers bracket. The grand final is 8 games in, and if the losers-bracket finalist wins it a reset game is played, for 9 games in total.

First-round matchups

Standard seeding puts the strongest seed against the weakest: 4 v 5. Seeds 1–3 wait for round two. List your teams strongest-first in the generator and the seeding is applied automatically.

How long does it take?

With 30-minute games, 9 games take about 4.5 hours on one court and 2.3 hours on two — but rounds can't overlap, so the last rounds always run one game at a time. Pro's scheduler enforces that ordering when it assigns dates, start times and courts.

Pickleball rules that affect the schedule

Pickleball round robins are usually one game to 11 (win by 2) or a timed 20–25 minute game. Because games are short, 4–8 courts can run a 16-team event in a single morning.

Tie-breakers: Match wins, then head-to-head, then point differential, then points scored.

Organizer tip: Pickleball events are the most court-constrained: set fields to your real court count and let the scheduler fill every slot.
