How a 4-team soccer round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 3 teams once, which is 6 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 3 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 12 games over 6 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 4 teams seeded 1–4, round 1 is: 1 v 4, 3 v 2. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 75-minute soccer slots, 6 games need about 7.5 hours on one field, 3.8 hours on two, or 1.9 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 3 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and fields, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Soccer rules that affect the schedule
Adult recreational soccer commonly plays two 30–35 minute halves; youth ages play shorter halves. Draws are normal in league play, so the standard 3-1-0 points system applies.
Tie-breakers: Points, then goal difference, then goals scored, then head-to-head (FIFA-style ordering; many local leagues use head-to-head first).
Organizer tip: Rotate which teams get the late-evening kickoff so the same club is not always playing under lights.
