How a 4-team pickleball round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 3 teams once, which is 6 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 3 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 12 games over 6 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 4 teams seeded 1–4, round 1 is: 1 v 4, 3 v 2. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 30-minute pickleball slots, 6 games need about 3 hours on one court, 1.5 hours on two, or 0.8 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 3 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and courts, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Pickleball rules that affect the schedule
Pickleball round robins are usually one game to 11 (win by 2) or a timed 20–25 minute game. Because games are short, 4–8 courts can run a 16-team event in a single morning.
Tie-breakers: Match wins, then head-to-head, then point differential, then points scored.
Organizer tip: Pickleball events are the most court-constrained: set fields to your real court count and let the scheduler fill every slot.
