How the 6-team softball double elimination bracket is built
6 is not a power of two, so the bracket is padded to 8 slots and the top 2 seeds skip round one with a bye. Everyone gets two lives: losers from the winners bracket drop into a 4-round losers bracket. The grand final is 10 games in, and if the losers-bracket finalist wins it a reset game is played, for 11 games in total.
First-round matchups
Standard seeding puts the strongest seed against the weakest: 4 v 5, 3 v 6. Seeds 1–2 wait for round two. List your teams strongest-first in the generator and the seeding is applied automatically.
How long does it take?
With 75-minute games, 11 games take about 13.8 hours on one diamond and 6.9 hours on two — but rounds can't overlap, so the last rounds always run one game at a time. Pro's scheduler enforces that ordering when it assigns dates, start times and diamonds.
Softball rules that affect the schedule
Slow-pitch softball is typically 7 innings or a 60–65 minute time limit with a mercy rule (e.g. 10 runs after 5 innings). Weeknight leagues stack 2–3 games per diamond.
Tie-breakers: Head-to-head, then runs allowed (not runs scored, to discourage running up scores), then coin flip.
Organizer tip: Double-headers are popular: set the per-team daily limit to 2 with 0 minutes rest if teams play back-to-back on the same diamond.
