How the 12-team tennis single elimination bracket is built
12 is not a power of two, so the bracket is padded to 16 slots and the top 4 seeds skip round one with a bye. A champion is decided after 11 games in 4 rounds; add the optional 3rd-place match for one more game.
First-round matchups
Standard seeding puts the strongest seed against the weakest: 8 v 9, 5 v 12, 7 v 10, 6 v 11. Seeds 1–4 wait for round two. List your teams strongest-first in the generator and the seeding is applied automatically.
How long does it take?
With 90-minute games, 11 games take about 16.5 hours on one court and 8.3 hours on two — but rounds can't overlap, so the last rounds always run one game at a time. Pro's scheduler enforces that ordering when it assigns dates, start times and courts.
Tennis rules that affect the schedule
Club tennis ladders and round robins typically play one pro set (first to 8) or a short set with a tiebreak at 6–6 to keep matches inside a 60–90 minute court booking.
Tie-breakers: Match wins, then set differential, then game differential, then head-to-head.
Organizer tip: For knockout draws, seed by rating so the top players do not meet in round one.
