How a 12-team baseball round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 11 teams once, which is 66 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 11 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 132 games over 22 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 12 teams seeded 1–12, round 1 is: 1 v 12, 11 v 2, 3 v 10, 9 v 4, 5 v 8, 7 v 6. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 120-minute baseball slots, 66 games need about 132 hours on one diamond, 66 hours on two, or 33 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 11 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and diamonds, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Baseball rules that affect the schedule
Youth baseball games are usually 6 innings or a 90–120 minute time limit; adult leagues play 7 or 9 innings. Pitch-count rules make rest days between games important for arms.
Tie-breakers: Head-to-head, then runs allowed ratio, then run differential.
Organizer tip: Use the minimum-rest constraint (e.g. 2 days = 2880 minutes) to protect pitchers when teams have thin rotations.
