How a 8-team flag football round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 7 teams once, which is 28 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 7 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 56 games over 14 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 8 teams seeded 1–8, round 1 is: 1 v 8, 7 v 2, 3 v 6, 5 v 4. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 60-minute flag football slots, 28 games need about 28 hours on one field, 14 hours on two, or 7 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 7 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and fields, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Flag Football rules that affect the schedule
Flag football games run two 20–25 minute halves. Many leagues split one full-size field into two flag fields, doubling capacity.
Tie-breakers: Head-to-head, then point differential, then points allowed.
Organizer tip: If you split a field, list each half as its own field (e.g. "Field 1A", "Field 1B") so the scheduler can use both.
