How a 5-team ultimate frisbee round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 4 teams once, which is 10 games in total. With an odd number of teams one team sits out each round, so the season needs 5 rounds and every team has exactly one bye. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 20 games over 10 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 5 teams seeded 1–5, round 1 is: 5 v 2, 3 v 4 (bye: team 1). Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 90-minute ultimate frisbee slots, 10 games need about 15 hours on one field, 7.5 hours on two, or 3.8 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 5 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and fields, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Ultimate Frisbee rules that affect the schedule
Ultimate games are played to 13 or 15 points with a soft time cap (~75–90 minutes). Tournaments run pool play (round robin) on Saturday and a bracket on Sunday.
Tie-breakers: Head-to-head, then point differential among tied teams, then point differential overall (USA Ultimate ordering).
Organizer tip: Generate the pools as round robins first, then create a separate single-elimination bracket for the top seeds.
