How a 16-team darts round robin works
Every team plays each of the other 15 teams once, which is 120 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 15 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 240 games over 30 rounds.
Round 1 pairings
The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 16 teams seeded 1–16, round 1 is: 1 v 16, 15 v 2, 3 v 14, 13 v 4, 5 v 12, 11 v 6, 7 v 10, 9 v 8. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.
How long does it take?
Using 30-minute darts slots, 120 games need about 60 hours on one board, 30 hours on two, or 15 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 15 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and boards, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.
Darts rules that affect the schedule
Pub darts leagues play best-of-3 or best-of-5 legs of 501. Round robins are common for weekly leagues; knockout cups use single elimination.
Tie-breakers: Wins, then leg difference, then head-to-head.
Organizer tip: Use 30-minute slots and one field per board.
