How a 16-team cornhole round robin works

Every team plays each of the other 15 teams once, which is 120 games in total. With an even number of teams every team plays in every round, so the whole schedule fits in 15 rounds with no byes. A double round robin (home and away) doubles that to 240 games over 30 rounds.

Round 1 pairings

The generator uses the circle method, which guarantees each pair meets exactly once. For 16 teams seeded 1–16, round 1 is: 1 v 16, 15 v 2, 3 v 14, 13 v 4, 5 v 12, 11 v 6, 7 v 10, 9 v 8. Home and away alternate so no team is stuck with all away games.

How long does it take?

Using 25-minute cornhole slots, 120 games need about 50 hours on one board set, 25 hours on two, or 12.5 hours on four. A weekly league playing one round per week runs 15 weeks. Pro's scheduler turns those numbers into actual dates, start times and board sets, honouring rest gaps and games-per-day limits.

Cornhole rules that affect the schedule

Cornhole games are played to 21 points, usually taking 15–25 minutes. Backyard and bar leagues favour a round robin followed by a single-elimination playoff for the top half.

Tie-breakers: Wins, then point differential, then head-to-head.

Organizer tip: Because games are short, list every board set as a field to keep the event moving.
